Sweet Medjool dates stuffed with toasted pecan halves and wrapped in crispy bacon. A three-ingredient appetizer that disappears the moment it hits the table.

  • 1 (8-ounce) box pitted Medjool dates (about 30)
  • 30 pecan halves
  • 10 to 12 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Toothpicks for securing
  1. 1

Preheat oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

  2. 2

Gently open each date along one side and tuck a pecan half inside, pressing the date closed around it.

  3. 3

Cut each bacon slice crosswise into 3 equal pieces. Wrap one piece of bacon snugly around each stuffed date and secure with a toothpick through the center.

  4. 4

Arrange the wrapped dates seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one. Sprinkle lightly with black pepper and smoked paprika.

  5. 5

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the bacon is crisp and golden on all sides.

  6. 6

Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain for 1 minute, then arrange on a serving platter and serve warm.
