A timeless Southern classic with a golden, gooey filling loaded with toasted pecans in a flaky pie crust. This is the quintessential Thanksgiving dessert.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate and crimp the edges.
In a large bowl, whisk together corn syrup, eggs, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until well combined.
Arrange pecan halves in the bottom of the pie crust in an even layer.
Pour the filling mixture over the pecans, allowing them to float to the top.
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, until the center is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted near the center should come out clean.
Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing, at least 2 hours.
