A buttery shortbread base topped with a caramel pecan layer. Simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.
Cream softened butter and powdered sugar. Mix in flour and salt until a dough forms. Press evenly into the pan.
Bake the shortbread base for 18 to 20 minutes until lightly golden.
Meanwhile, melt 1/2 cup butter with brown sugar and honey in a saucepan over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute, then stir in pecans and cream.
Pour the pecan mixture over the hot shortbread base and spread evenly.
Bake for 18 to 20 more minutes until bubbly and golden. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
